My path to mediation

As the General Counsel of a group of private equity real estate funds, I have been involved in the mediation and arbitration of various claims, and realized I would be well suited to helping others find mutual solutions to business conflicts.

I have devoted myself in recent years to mastering the craft of conflict resolution and mediation. While many professionals take the basic 40-hour course required to handle court-ordered mediations, I have gone well beyond that threshold, taking numerous classes on alternative dispute resolution, including a course at Harvard Law School on advanced negotiation techniques and extensive courses in California taught by mediation experts Lee Jay Berman and Doug Noll.

With a solid foundation in mediation, and vast experience in the legal and business worlds, I can assist parties in efficiently resolving challenging commercial disputes or intervening at an early stage to assist in diagnosing and resolving matters before they mature into time consuming and very costly litigated conflicts.

I possess particular expertise in mediating real estate, hospitality and resort, contract and partnership, and securities and lending matters, but can comfortably handle all types of commercial disputes.

Today, as the principal and founder of Johnson Conflict Resolution, I am now fully engaged in working to find creative solutions to challenging disputes.
